Tahuna Beach, Nelson
Monday 13 Jan (arrival) -
Sunday 19th January
The 2020
NZMRI Summer School will be held at the
Beachside Conference and Events Centre, (the usual venue, previously known as Tahuna Function Centre), Nelson.
Since 1 October 2019, you will need to apply for a NZeTA (NZ electronic travel authorisation) even if you are from a visa waiver country.
NZ citizens travelling on an NZ passport, and Australian citizens travelling on an Australian passport do not need to worry about this. Processing can take up to three days (but also as little as 10min), so please apply early enough. Apply through

This summer school is one of an annual series organized by the NZMRI (New Zealand Mathematics Research Institute), with the theme for January 2020 being the mathematical aspects of general relativity. See also the related conference on the
Geometry of Quantum Fields and Strings, 10–12 January 2020, at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
The summer school is aimed primarily at mathematics PhD students - there would also be a significant number of senior mathematicians attending, but relatively few would have any significant background in general relativity.
Lectures would end at approximately 13:00 on Sunday 19th January 2020, followed by lunch, and then an afternoon departure.
