STAT 338: Multivariate Statistics

Tutorials: To be advised, but will include at least one hour per week.
Assessment: 20% assignments and 10% from a test. Final exam 70%.
Prescription: An introduction to various practical analysis techniques for multivariate statistical data. Topics will be chosen from: multivariate regression, principal component analysis, factor analysis, correspondence analysis, experimental design, multivariate analysis of variance, contingency tables, cluster analysis, and multidimensional scaling.
Description: This course continues the STAT 193 - STAT 291 Applied Statistics stream. It introduces various practical analysis techniques for multivariate statistical data. Statistical software will be used throughout the course to illustrate the application of the various techniques to multivariate data, although prior knowledge of such software is not necessary.
