Welcome to the homepage for the 9th Annual ACM SIGCHI_NZ Conference on Human-Computer Interaction. The conference is being hosted by Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science in Kelburn, Wellington. The conference will be held on July 2nd, 2008.

Important Date Change

Earlier messages advertised the conference as running between 30th June - 3rd July, 2008. Due to the cancellation of the separate student workshop, the conference will now run on the 2nd July, 2008.

Important Dates

  • Call for Papers: 20th February 2008
  • Submission: extended until 14 April 2008
  • Notification to Authors: 21st May 2008
  • Final Submissions: 5th June 2008


Registration for CHINZ 2008 is now open. Full registration is $135.00, while students can register for $55.00. Please note that all registrations provide the attendee with a year's membership in the New Zealand Chapter of SIGCHI.


The conference will be held in Cotton 216 at Victoria University's Kelburn Campus. Lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea will be provided.
