Code of Conduct
The Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all those who participate in its conferences and events, regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, physical appearance, physical abilities, and religious beliefs (or lack thereof).
We expect that participants in CMSA events will:
- act to support the commitment to creating an inclusive environment,
- never intentionally discriminate against another participant on the basis of their characteristics,
- not claim authorship of work that is not their own, or sole authorship of work that was completed with others, and
- not engage in harassing or demeaning behaviour, whether seriously or in jest.
Harassing or demeaning behaviour may include (but is not limited to) the following:
- comments that diminish or humiliate others by referring to their gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, physical appearance, physical abilities, or religious beliefs (or lack thereof),
- intimidation or stalking,
- unwelcome sexual attention, including unwanted sexual language, or
- advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.
Behaviour that violates these expectations may be sanctioned by expulsion from the conference or event.
Participants who have been harassed, who have noticed someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, are encouraged to notify the conference organisers (anonymously, if preferred) in one of the following ways.
We acknowledge the use of the following codes of conduct in the creation of this document:
