Abstract
Although seemly disparate, Statistics and Genetics are two scientific disciplines that grew together from the beginning of the 20th century. From Galton and Fisher to Henderson and Hayes there have always been problems, and most importantly solutions, tackled by scholars in both areas. In this talk, I will introduce some of the historical problems that intersect these sciences. I will also share my own journey in Animal Breeding and my take on what the future could look like.
